2024 Registration is open

Join us as Kopf Running presents the 12th Annual Henry's Hustle 5K benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of our friend, Henry Betts! This year's race will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 8:15am. We are collecting monetary donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (proceeds from entry fees also go to MDA)! Please consider donating to or fundraising for MDA to help us double our impact!

• 5K Includes:
  • Chip timed 5K with online results and photos on RunSignUp race site
  • T-shirt (sizing guaranteed only thru 11/4/2024)
  • Goody bag with coupons and product samples
  • Entry into our raffle prize drawings (automatically entered with race registration; must be present to win)
  • Post-race party with music, food, Starbucks coffee, post-race stretching from Athletico Physical Therapy, and awards (awards at approx. 9am)
• FREE 1/2 Mile Kids Dash Includes:
  • T-shirt (sizing guaranteed only thru 11/4/2024)

Date & Time

Thursday, November 28, 2024 - 8:00am start for the 1/2 Mile Kids Dash and 8:15am start for the 5K. Post-race party includes stretching from Athletico Physical Therapy, Thanksgiving-themed treats and snacks, runner-friendly food, Starbucks coffee, LMNT hydration station, music, kids games, awards, and raffle prize drawings. Raffle drawing and race awards at approximately 9:00am.

• Timed 5K: 
  • $25 Thru September 30th
  • $30 October 1st thru October 31st
  • $35 November 1st thru November 27th
  • $40 for race day registration on November 28th

• Kids Dash:
  • Always free!

Location of Start / Finish Area & Parking

Location: Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Road, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156. The Run/Walk and Kids Dash will begin on the back (West) side of the building. However, all participants will park in the lot by the front entrance of Marlowe (the East side of the building) and walk through the building to the gym for pre-race stretching and refreshments. Then, runners will exit on the West side of the building to begin the race. If you pick up your packet on race day or register on race day, please allow enough time to return your items to your vehicle, as there is no gear check, before returning to the start line to begin the race. Volunteers will be on-site directing parking. Overflow parking may need to park in another school's lot on the same campus, so please come early or plan on parking far away and walking to the race start line.

Course map is  always subject to change. The 2024 course map is below and linked here! Water and LMNT hydration will be available at approximately the 1.6 mile mark.

Timing, Age Groups, & Awards

Race Time will be on hand to provide finish times to all runners and walkers participating in the 5K!! The 5K is chip timed, but it is a gun start style race, meaning that everyone's time starts when the race begins, not when you cross the start line. Please note results are not official until after the event. Medals will be given to the male and female top 3 in each age division (14 and under, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65 and older) and the overall male and female finishers. Male and female overall winners will receive a medal and a Running Depot $50 gift card, a pumpkin pie from Tom's, and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe free smoothie card! Age group winners will receive a medal and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe smoothie card. 

Packet Pick Up & Race Day Registration

You MAY pick up someone else's packet by giving the packet pick up volunteer the other person's first and last name.

Other Information

• Age to Participate: Run/Walk participants must be 5 years or older, and Kids Dash participants must be 12 months or older. All participants under the age of 18 years must have a parent register them via online or in person registration.
• Strollers are welcome. No rollerblades, scooters, or roller-skates. No pets please. Walkers and participants with strollers please start in the back.
• Race course subject to change without notice.
