Gymnasium Set Up
- Date: Monday, November 24, 2025
- Time: 6-7:30pm
- Description: unloading all tables and supplies from the cargo vans and setting them up.
- Main task: packing 1,000+ participant goody bags.
- Location: Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Rd, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156.
Tuesday Night Packet Stuffing
- Date: Tuesday, November 25, 2025
- Time: 2-8pm; 3 2-hour shifts available
- Description: Volunteers will help match bib numbers with t-shirts and insert them into goody bags for packet pick up. Over 1,000 to pack!

Wednesday Morning Packet Stuffing
- Date: Wednesday, November 26, 2025
- Time: 8am-2pm; 3 2-hour shifts available

Packet Pick Up Assistant
- Date: Wednesday, November 26, 2025
- Time: 4:30-8pm
- Description: Help pass out goody bags / t-shirts to participants who have already registered for the race.
- Location: TBD but traditionally at Arctic Heating and Cooling, 111 Erick St, Ste 120, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
Packet Pick Up and Registration - Race Day
- Date: Thursday, November 27, 2025 - Thanksgiving Day
- Time: 6:30am-8:30am
- Description: Volunteers in this position will help set up registration, post-race food, and raffle prize tables, as well as assist in registering race day participants and directing runners to restrooms and the start line.
- Location: Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Rd, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156.
Course Marshall - Race Day
- Date: Thursday, November 27, 2025 - Thanksgiving Day
- Time: 7:15am-9:15am
- Description: Please meet at the pre and post race location, which is Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Rd, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156. From there, you will be assigned a spot along the course, most likely with one other volunteer. You will cheer the runners on and also direct runners / make sure they do not go off course. Please be prepared to stand for a few hours in the cold temperatures of November. Volunteers in these positions may bring their own lawn chair to sit in if they cannot stand that whole time. Also, please bring warm clothes, hat, and gloves.
Post-Race and Clean Up Assistant - Race Day
- Date: Thursday, November 27, 2025 - Thanksgiving Day
- Time: 8am-10:30am
- Description: Volunteers in this position will assist race finishers by handing out water and medals and by replenishing post-race food as needed. Some volunteers in this position will also assist race director with finisher data for awards and raffle winners and will clean up the race location (tear down tables and chairs, load supplies into van, etc).
